User Acknowledgement and Acceptance
The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office recognizes that the
Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board (SORB) is the exclusive source for
sex offender information posted on the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office website.
Any errors or omissions should be brought to the attention of the SORB.
Personal email notifications provided by the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office
are dependent on SORB updates. The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office will release
information as it becomes available from the SORB.
By enrolling in the email notification service provided by
the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office, the enrollee understands that the
information provided is in no way a complete list of sex offenders. Notifications
are sent out in reference to registered Level 3 sex offenders only. Level 3
sex offenders are those considered a high risk of re-offending. For information
about Level 2 offenders, please contact your local police department.
Information shall not be used to commit a crime or to engage in illegal
discrimination or harassments of an offender. Any person who uses
information disclosed pursuant to M.G.L. C. 6 §§ 178C - 178P for such purposes
shall be punished by not more than two and one half (2.5) years in a house of
correction or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1000.00) or
both (M.G.L. C.6, § 178N). In addition, any person who uses Registry
information to threaten to commit a crime may be punished by a fine of not more
than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment for not more than six (6)
months (M.G.L. C. 275 § 4)
Pursuant to M.G.L. C. 6, §§ 178C - 178P, the individuals who appear on the
following notifications have been designated a Level 3 Sex Offenders by the Sex
Offender Registry Board. The Board has determined that these individuals
have a high risk to reoffend and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the
public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active
community notification.
