Robert Dillon


Director of Human Resource

Director Dillon began his career with the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office as a Correction Officer in 1992.

Due to his work performance and leadership, Bob was promoted through the ranks to Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain.

He served as the NSO’s Time and Attendance Coordinator and earned a reputation for innovation in that role. In December of 2015, he was promoted to Director of Human Resources.

In his role as Director, he supervises the administration of workers compensation, insurance, scheduling, time and attendance, benefits, accrued time, and payroll. He also is the NSO’s key person for recruitment of new staff and serves as the chair of interview committees for various promotional opportunities and job openings. He has been key in developing and administering the uniformed promotional written examinations. Director Dillon also supervises the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office training department.
