Civil Process
Sheriff Bellotti's Civil Process Office is responsible for executing, or
delivering, court orders. Deputy sheriffs "serve" official court documents in
all of Norfolk County's 27 towns and the City of Quincy.
"Process" is commonly defined as "a paper of writing issued by some court in the
exercise of its jurisdiction." These documents include divorce papers, liens,
evictions, restraining orders, subpoenas and other orders.
Attorneys often request that sworn deputy sheriffs present these important
documents in person to those involved in court cases or other legal
proceedings.
