File Of Life Program

Sheriff Belloitti's TRIAD program has distributed more than 80,000 File of Life cards to senior citizens across Norfolk County.

The File of Life is an emergency medical card that a senior citizen fills out and places inside a red "File of Life" sleeve that is magnetized and sticks to the refrigerator door.

Initiated by Sheriff Bellotti in 2000, the program is run in conjunction with Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine project and is expected to distribute more than 150 phones annually for use by victims in need. In recognition of the work accomplished by the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office, Verizon Wireless awarded a grant to be used to continue and enhance the program.

Sheriff Bellotti’s Victim Services Unit oversees and administers the “Cells for Safety” program.

From the Sheriff:

"TRIAD is seniors helping seniors. Through this safety initiative, the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office enrolls senior citizens from local communities to work with local police and support services to bring safety programs and awareness to the elderly population."
