Assistant Deputy Superintendent Health Services
ADS Tara Flynn has been with the Department since 2000, beginning her career as a Registered Nurse. In 2006, she was promoted by Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti to the rank of Assistant Deputy Superintendent.
As Assistant Deputy Superintendent, Tara is responsible to oversee the implementation of a high quality health care delivery system for the Norfolk Sheriff's Office.
ADS Flynn ensures all aspects of health care provided is in accordance with the standards of the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), the American Correctional Association (ACA), the Department of Corrections (DOC), the Department of Public Health (DPH) and applicable regulations. ADS Flynn oversees a full cadre of health care staff which includes licensed physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, a dentist, and licensed mental health clinicians.
ADS Flynn is a Certified Correctional Nurse Manager with the American Correctional Association and a Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and an AJA Certified Jail Manager. For the past five years, ADS Flynn has been the chair of the County Health Administrators Group.
ADS Flynn holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from Framingham State University.
